What each station charges are based on guidelines and not requirements of the state. State Inspection facilities can charge as little as $10 or as much as $25 that is entirely up to the station owner. Most stations charge $20 to $25 and we feel that $16 dollars is a very good deal for our customers. So to answer your question “it is not mandated”.
